Marigolds

Today children learned what a marigold is when we visited Young's Plant World.  We were a lucky bunch since we were each given a marigold to take home, plant and care for.  We hope our flowers grow big and strong, just like us! :)

Park Play

Now that the weather is nice (well, for most days) we have been able to get out and walk to the park near Susan's.  Our walks are always very interesting as we see many things that pique our curiosity and create great conversations.  We LOVE to play at the park - making up games, trying out the various pieces of equipment and enjoying fresh air.  It's also fun to find leaves and twigs along our walks.  We LOVE nature!!

Spring Expo

On Friday the Spring Expo was in town and we headed over there on that rainy day to check out the exhibits.  We also got a free balloon and had our faces painted.  Then, Whitney treated us to some scrumptious mini-donuts.  What a fun afternoon we had but boy, were we tired afterwards.

Spring Crafts

With spring finally arriving (or so we thought until the snow started to fly today), the children at Susan's have been doing a variety of crafts related to spring and using the medium: tissue paper.  Recently we've made tissue paper snails and trees with blossoms.  It is fun working with tissue paper (although it often gets stuck to our fingers).

Happy Birthday!!

Today we celebrated a birthday for one of the children at Susan's which included a special DQ treat (making our own ice cream sundae!!).

Easter Time!!

Thursday was the day we celebrated Easter at Susan's.  It was a fun-filled PACKED day with many activities that kept us busy little bunnies.  First we did some Easter crafts/art activities and then we dyed eggs (and many of our fingers).  After lunch we watched "Hop" and then had a fantastic Easter egg hunt.  Susan told us she had phoned the Easter bunny and asked if he could swing by the daycare since it isn't open on Easter and lucky for us he said "Sure!".  So we searched for the treats he left while wearing our special Easter bunny hats.  All-in-all we had a fantabulous day!!!

Being Easter Bunnies

The children made bunny masks today and practiced their Easter bunny hop.  What wonderful (and cute!) bunnies we have at Susan's!!!

Lookin' for Leaves

While enjoying the outdoors, children found amazingly large leaves leftover from last fall.  They were huge!!  They also got to enjoy a "bird's eye view" from some of the beautiful trees that surround a nearby park.

Walk & Train Park

Now that the spring weather is here we are outside more and more.  We love the fresh air and enjoy being able to get out and visit the parks.  Susan's is close to the train park so we like walking there and spending time playing on the various apparatuses.  We always have quite the adventure!!

Lovin' the Library

Thursday mornings are often spent at the parkland library where the children get to participate in songs, stories and crafts. It's always a ton of fun!!
